On the 26th of June, Core Ireland will hold their first Foot Golf fundraiser at Navan Adventure Centre at 11 am. Teams of 4 are invited to kick their worries away and support mental health recovery education in the community.
Core Ireland is a Mental Health charity based in the Meath Enterprise Centre, Navan. They bring people and organizations together to address a variety of issues such as mental health, community development, and social inclusion. They do this through a range of individual projects such as Mental Health Recovery Courses, Core Community Magazine, Volunteering opportunities, and The Nourish Food Project which provides much-needed food hampers to those in need.
Core Mental Health Recovery Educational Courses deliver a variety of courses to participants. Courses include ‘Thoughts, Feelings and Actions’ which explores how emotional intelligence links to our overall wellbeing and how we can deal with negative emotions in our lives. ‘Self-Care’ is designed to aid people in increasing their self-positivity and gratitude as well as compassion and understanding of others. The recently completed 6-week creative “Song Craft” course saw participants learn with and from each other by expressing themselves through the art of songwriting which helped build confidence through playing together. They composed the lyrics and melody to a song and performed it at our latest coffee morning.
Bernard Kenny, the Chairman of Core Ireland stated “We are really looking forward to this event. It’s about people coming together to show support for those experiencing mental wellbeing challenges and raising funds for much-needed courses in our communities.”
Cllr Yemi Adenuga, Charity ambassador for Core Ireland is expecting a great turnout on the day. “We want everyone to join us on Sunday the 26th for a great day of fun and interaction It will be a family fun day where you can bring the children as most are on holiday now and you can kindly lend your invaluable support to Core Ireland as we fundraise to sustain the priceless work they do for the people of our community in the area of mental wellbeing. Don’t miss it”
There will be a raffle held on the day for an Apple iPad as well as spot prizes. Don’t worry if you don’t have a team, just come along and one will be formed on the day.
